so does that mean that casein is better suited for "hardgainers" that typically have a faster metabolism? reason why i ask is since casein is slowly absorbed compared to whey you might have more stable/reliable results from it, especially when consuming casein first thing in the morning and a couple hours before bed… that's my hypothesis anyway.

Too much protein spike is BAD for your liver. Preaching whey without talking about liver impact is wrong. So far Casein or hemp protein is leading in my research!

I think a good strategy might be to take casein right before bed because it's slow digesting and you're about to go 8+ hrs without food. Otherwise take whey throughout the day.

Just an Fyi since the video is somewhat misleading and incorrect, here comes the knowledge, the MPS is done through the mTOR pathway which has 2 main triggers, blood leucine and glycogen, this is why you wanna eat some carbs as well as a shake right after the workout, to start the mTOR which is going to give you the MPS, now that mTOR is a cycle which takes roughly 3 hours to complete, this is why the optimal feeding structure should be to cap the antagonists of mTOR every 3 hours, ie eating a meal with sufficient carbs and the protein containing ~2.5g of leucine that amount of leucine will make sure you get the maxed out mTOR cycle, since it can also trigger suboptimally. Since what you are looking for is blood protein, casein is basically useless as a shake, it is however fine as a meal replacement, since you want the blood leucine to spike as fast as possible post workout. Now what they said in the video about MPS is only the trigger to open mTOR in the first place, you need a physical stimulus which is going to allow it to open every 3 hours with the perfect nutrition plan, now for regular Joe's such as myself, I generally go for a meal plan which is 4 meal a day every 4 hours and potentially a shake+some oats before bed, now that before bed shake would actually be better if it were casein because it is going to last the night. Here you go, hopefully I am read, stay strong y'all!

I use a mp. Brand they got one I using at night :: it’s whey and Casein // it’s go 5 Proteins in it :. So get best of both worlds .. I just started using it :. It’s called combat MP. Muscle Pharm

okay so people are saying whey protein after a workout,casein before going to sleep,what if i did this,i Wiegh 245,i split that in three,some in the morning(i’ll make a shake at 10am)some in the afternoon,(i’ll make a shake at 2pm)and then i go workout at 6 then after my workout i make another shake so i can get all of my 245g of protien,then before going to sleep i’ll make a shake with casein,(i’d obviously eat to but that’s just an example)
