Don't even want to imagine what the Tube would look like with todays pile of talentless cretins. How good we had it back then, the Tube and Tiswas.

All because Jools said "Groovy fuckers" on live TV.

Had there ever been an full original soundtrack for the theme on The Tube? That song sounds smooth.

One of the last great TV programmes before Thatcher fucked up British TV (only to be fucked up again later by those vainglorious twats jonathan ross and russel brand). I loved Paula Yates.

Paula Yates (r.i.p) & Muriel Grey! I'm 15/6 again. Can't believe there's not more views/comments on this. Tv gold 🎖

The sheer EDGINESS of having the live close harmonies of a 'new group' singing This Boy closely followed by the bizarre, maniacal, abrasive Swans. We took this for granted back then, that wild lunge from one thing to the next would never happen on TV now because they fear the public can't cope with vwriety (at least, when I last looked it wasn't happening, haven't watched TV for over a year). This was Channel Four in the eighties where anything could happen and usually did. We had no idea at the time that it was scrapped for any reason other than they decided to go out before it become irrelevant. This was a different Joolz too….the greasy, snotty 'groovy feller' before he became the irritating circus ringmaster with his interminable boogie-woogie. Aye well those were the dayz, like.

By the way, probably the most lame song performed ever by The Cure with a shockingly bad guitar solo by Smith to boot. But hey (an Art Of Noise HEY! there), it's teatime telly on a Friday and who knows what they've got coming up next?
