i am buying a A6400 I have been using a Cannon 700d using Nd 0-32 and a 10 stop. When doing long exposure with the cannon I turn off auto fucus and lens stabilisation dial in manually, also I cover the back view finder, but the A6400 is a much more modern camera, I came across your video seeing if there was tutorials about this. Would it be better to just stick to my tried and tested routine.

Perfect. Straight to the point. All the info needed. No padding to make the video artificially longer than necessary. Thank you.

G'day Mark, a quick question if I may? Been searching your channel but can't seem to find anything relevant and seeing as it's about long exposures this seems as good a place as any.
I was shooting some fireworks recently using shutter speeds of around 8-10 seconds in manual mode with manual focus on my Sony A72.
Now being a glasses wearer I generally use the lcd screen on the back of the camera but decided this time to use the EVF and was horrified by the amount of noise I was seeing; it was a sea of red.
I was only shooting at ISO 200 so high ISO wasn't the cause and there was no noise on the lcd at all, just through the EVF; any idea what causes this? And moreso is there a way to eliminate it as it makes it very hard to focus properly using manual focus?

Hey Mark! Great video! A question: if you would have to buy one nd filter, which density would you choose? At least to start with. I'm a landscape photographer. And also. Do you recommend Hoya? Thanks!

Hi…after manually focusing, and while adding the ND filter, the lens moves and gets out of focus, is there a way around this ?
Thanks ….

Nice video there Sir! I was wondering if you edited it or it just came out like that with the filter on?

My Ricoh gr is great for long exposures, up to 300 seconds and it has a built in nd filter and the equivalent of a 28mm lens.

Just spend $5 on a piece of welding glass which come in different grades. Grade 8 is about a -10fstop, grade 6 being -8fstop and so on. I would buy a grade 4 which would be equivalent to this ND filter. You will get a green colour cast, but that's easily removable via post work. I've made the mistake of buying very expensive Lee filters including the big stopper and other ND filters.
