Mr. Causey explains accuracy and precision with examples. Accuracy is how close the measurement (data) is to the accepted value and precision is how close or repeatable the measurements are to each other. You can be very precise and very wrong at the same time. How accurate and precise you are is dependent on how good the tool is and how well the user is trained. Remember a tool is no better than the idiot using it.

Precision – Definition and Calculation

Olly Tree Applications presents USMLE Biostatistics… a unique, yet easy to use study tool for the USMLE. It is completely free and comes with absolutely no advertisements.
Currently only on Android
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ollytreeapplications.epistats\u0026hl=en
Our 2×2 sample table allows for quick calculations of up to 25 different biostatistics. Simply enter the required data into the highlighted boxes and the solution will appear. All of the most important equations are here – from absolute risk reduction to odds ratio to specificity.
As your knowledge and understanding of medical biostatistics grows, we suggest that you become accustomed to solving questions without the use of our 2×2 sample table. Also be sure to check out our flashcards, board review questions, and video lectures.
Key Concept:
So you want to change a patient’s current therapy because a new medication has a decreased risk of a particular side effect. That sounds reasonable, but have you taken other issues into consideration (e.g., efficacy, other adverse reactions, cost, etc.)? And how about the number needed to treat? Do you know how many patients would need to receive the new therapy as opposed to the old one before one patient less experiences the side effect? Determining the number needed to treat can be useful in clinical practice when analyzing the risk versus benefit between two therapies.

Intelligent precision cold welding, I can’t believe it, it’s really perfect!

This video uses an intelligent precision cold welding machine to weld various metal objects. The semifinished products of welding simply break the existence of the welding process, which is perfect!

Accuracy and Precision: Definition, Difference with Examples | Physics Video Tutorials

In this video we can talk about the difference between accuracy and precision.
What is accuracy?
Accuracy refers to the closeness of a measured value to a standard or known value.
What is precision?
Precision refers to the closeness of two or more measurements to each other.
Now, we can explain it with 2 different examples. Listen carefully.
A visual example:
Target shooting is an example which explains the difference between accuracy and precision. See the visual. Here, the shots are focused so as to reach the bull’s eye (midpoint), but the bullets have reached only around this point. Hence the shots are
not accurate and also not precise.
Here, all the shots are close to each other but not at the central point. Hence the shots are said to be precise but not accurate.
But in visual, the shots are closer and also at the central point. Hence the shots are both precise and accurate.
A numerical example
The true value of a certain length is near 5.678 cm. In one experiment, using a measuring instrument of resolution 0.1 cm, the measured value is found to be 5.5 cm.
In another experiment using a measuring instrument of greater resolution, say 0.01 cm, the length is found to be 5.38 cm. We find that the first measurement is more accurate as it is closer to the true value, but it has lesser precision. On the contrary, the second measurement is less accurate, but it is more precise.
